Impact Through Enterprise
Youth do real client work, and the revenue sustains the programs that trained them.
How the model works
EGE’s social enterprise model connects EGE Foundation’s charitable mission with Eternal Generations Emerging LLC’s revenue-generating work. The Foundation provides accessible youth development, environmental education, leadership, and community-based programming, while the LLC develops and licenses curriculum, training, consulting services, and other mission-aligned resources.
Through the Jr. EGE Pioneers program, including the JEP Interns and Roots Fellows, young people gain practical skills, mentorship, and hands-on experience that can prepare them to work with EGE beyond the fellowship, pursue employment within the organization, or use their skills to support other community-based organizations. Together, the Foundation and LLC create a pipeline that supports each young person’s journey toward discovering and pursuing their passion and purpose, while expanding community capacity and generating earned income that strengthens EGE’s long-term sustainability.

Each stage feeds the next, and the last one feeds the first.
- Little EGE Dreamers Early literacy and reading circles, PreK through Grade 6.

EGE Out! Environmental Education
Hands-on environmental education, grades 3 to 8.
- After-School Weekly sessions through the school year.
- edVentures & Family Camp Field trips, and camp with families.

Jr. EGE Pioneers
Paid, progressive roles for teenagers and young adults.
- JEP Interns Ages 12 to 16. Paid work inside the social enterprise.
- Roots Fellows Ages 16 to 24. Trained as outdoor education program leaders.
- Careers and community Paid Coordinator positions, higher education, and work as educators, entrepreneurs, farmers, researchers and community leaders.
And back to the beginning: participants return as mentors, facilitators, partners and employers for the generation behind them.
Every child we reach is a generation changed.
EGE is a small, Black-led organization doing this work in Sacramento, in Texas and in Uganda. Support goes straight into programs for young people.
