EGE Out!
Environmental Learning in Action
Place-based environmental education on land, water and food systems, delivered outside the classroom walls.

Outside the classroom walls.
Searching the wet sand at Point Reyes, July 2026.
What we learn
Ecosystems and how everything connects. Water and where California’s supply comes from. Food systems, climate, and environmental justice as something lived rather than abstract.
How we learn
Hands-on, outdoors, and in partnership with the schools and organizations young people already belong to.
Three ways EGE Out! runs
- After-School Program. Grades 3 to 8, inside schools and community sites across Sacramento.
- edVentures & Family Camp. Day experiences to redwoods, the coast, farms and parks.
- Family & Community Camp Experience. Overnight camps that bring whole families outdoors together.
Every child we reach is a generation changed.
EGE is a small, Black-led organization doing this work in Sacramento, in Texas and in Uganda. Support goes straight into programs for young people.
