2025 EGE Out! after-school survey

From EGE’s own pre, mid and post instrument, delivered at Roberts Family Development Center with grades 5 to 8.

  • Before: 57% identified fossil fuels as the main cause of climate change. 42% identified California’s water sources. 85% could define reduce, reuse, recycle.
  • Midway: 77% felt somewhat or very confident discussing environmental issues. 46% cited field trips and 38% art projects as most effective.
  • After: 100% identified the role trees play in cleaning air. 100% understood environmental justice.
  • Looking forward: 70% want to keep learning about the environment. 23% are interested in environmental careers.

Method: the percentages above come from EGE’s own pre, mid and post survey delivered at Roberts Family Development Center with grades 5 to 8. Across all core cohorts, 142 youth completed the EGE Out! survey.
