Meet the board
EGE is led by people who build things: creative enterprises, small businesses, classrooms and community programs. Several are volunteers as well as board members.
Board Chair
Founding Executive Director, EGE Foundation
Sydney Mathis founded Eternal Generations Emerging in 2021 and serves as its Founding Executive Director and Board Chair. Sacramento born and a first-generation college graduate, she holds a B.S. in Natural Resources from Humboldt State and an M.S. in Park and Resource Management.

Carla Wells is a Sacramento-based creative entrepreneur, community leader, and healing arts practitioner with more than a decade of experience designing arts-based programs that foster wellness, connection, and personal transformation.

Maya is a Youth Ambassador for the EGE Foundation whose creativity, compassion, and vision have helped shape the heart of the organization’s youngest initiatives.
EGE is a small, Black-led organization doing this work in Sacramento, in Texas and in Uganda. Support goes straight into programs for young people.
